he
paintings expose a passion for the visual rhythms of the natural
world.
The artist is attracted to dramatic landforms from
Mexico to Baffin Island, from the Sea-to-the-Sky Highway in British
Columbia to the Tablelands in Gros Morne, Newfoundland.
Explorations in Japan, Greece, Italy, Mexico, the
American Southwest, Canada, Sante Fe and the Carribean are in search
of the endless patterns in nature. Tropical vegetation, the tuckamore
or tundra provide inspiration for work that is not so much about
a specific geographic place as it is about the orchestration of
linear rhythms, colour harmony and dramatic emphasis. |
